The Egyptian Phoenix - Benu
Regeneration & Rebirth. Wealth. Fertility.

The Egyptian Benu is the mythical sun bird, born not of other creatures but self-created. The Benu Bird was said to have sprung as a living symbol of God from the heart of Osiris, the Egyptian god of life, death and fertility. The bird is the symbol of the rise of life and signifies a new period of wealth, characterized by fertility. The name benu means ascension or to rise.

The Egyptian Cobra - Uadjet
Growth. Justice. Truth. Sovereignty.

A winged cobra goddess of childbirth and protector of children symbolising sovereignty, justice and truth. Her name means "the papyrus-coloured one" connecting her to forces of growth and the earth. She was the goddess of Lower Egypt and her counterpart was the vulture goddess of Upper Egypt . She represented one of the mythical mothers of the King.

The Egyptian Falcon - Horus
Protector. Unity. Death and Rebirth.

Horus was a sky god often depicted as a stylized eye which is an important Egyptian symbol of power. He had a man's body and a falcon's head. Horus lost one eye in a battle with Set the ancient god of the desert for the throne of Egypt , leaving him one eye which became a sign of protection in Egypt . Horus united Egypt and the pharaohs were viewed as the reincarnation of Horus.

The Egyptian Scarab - Khepera
Self-Generation. Resurrection and Renewal.

In ancient Egypt, the scarab beetle represented god Khepera, the creator god and a solar deity. They rolled their eggs in a ball of dung across the ground and the ball was identified with the sun. The baby beetles would emerge from these balls and so dung beetles were thought capable of spontaneous creation. God Khepera or Khepri literally means “He who is Coming into Being”.
